Overview
System One is e are seeking a high-caliber Commissioning Manager for a simple cycle peaker project (3 – GE LM6000 PF1 and 1- GE 7FA.05)in Wheatfield, IN. The Commissioning Manager will play a pivotal part in directing and ensuring the peak performance, reliability, and safety during the commissioning of our client's power plants. This leadership role demands a blend of on-site commissioning work, strategic foresight, and team collaboration to oversee equipment testing, system integration, and operational handover across our client's varied power generation assets.
Commissioning Manager Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a team of commissioning technicians, coordinating operational commissioning activities on mechanical and electrical equipment such as turbines, boilers, pumps, generators and related power plant apparatus.
• Drive the commissioning process, overseeing system testing, troubleshooting, and integration efforts to ensure smooth and efficient plant startup and handover.
• Collaborate closely with contractors, engineering, operations, and safety departments to plan and execute commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
• Develop, implement, and enforce commissioning protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and effective working environment, emphasizing compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Develop and implement CTO packages.
• Monitor and assess equipment performance during the commissioning phase, recommending and overseeing necessary adjustments, optimizations, and upgrades to achieve operational excellence.
• Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, system integrations, equipment performance, and compliance metrics for reporting, validation, and continuous improvement purposes.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to commissioning teams, plant operators, and other stakeholders, cultivating a culture of excellence, teamwork, and ongoing learning.
• Ensure the installed progress and work product are in line with drawings, specifications and contractual requirements. Highlight any variances or changes in the work placement.
• Track work progress and highlight key activity development in daily reports.
• Support our partners and project stakeholders at each project are communicating early and often when problems arise and be able to find creative solutions to project challenges.
Commissioning Manager Requirements:
• 15–20 years of experience in power projects, with significant experience in combined cycle plants and simple cycle peaker project. (3 – GE LM6000 PF1 and 1- GE 7FA.05)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; highly organized and self-directed with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
