Senior Project Controls Specialist
Location: Pine Lake, Iowa or Colwich, KS
Duration: Through May 2027 (W2 Contract)
Per Diem: $175/day for days worked onsite
Overtime: Expected 10+ hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Specialist to support a large-scale industrial
capital project in Pine Lake, Iowa through May 2027. This individual will play a critical role in
providing visibility into both project costs and schedules, helping project teams identify risks,
maintain accurate forecasts, and drive successful project execution.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project controls, cost management, and scheduling within industrial, EPC, construction, manufacturing, or capital project environments. This
is a hands-on position requiring direct involvement with project schedules, cost reports, forecasting,
change management, and leadership reporting.

Key Responsibilities
• Track and manage project cost and schedule performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain project budgets, forecasts, commitments, actual costs, and financial reporting.
• Develop and update integrated project schedules using Microsoft Project.
• Perform variance analysis and identify cost and schedule trends, risks, and corrective actions.
• Lead change management processes, including documentation, impact assessments, and
baseline updates.
• Maintain project risk registers, issue logs, and mitigation plans.
• Prepare dashboards, progress reports, and leadership presentations that provide clear
project status updates.
• Ensure accurate project documentation, records management, and reporting consistency.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders to
improve project performance.
• Support project closeout activities, lessons learned reviews, and continuous improvement
initiatives.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business,
Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of project controls, cost control, scheduling, project management, or capital project
experience.
• Proven experience with cost forecasting, schedule management, change control, and project
performance reporting.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to connect cost, schedule, scope, and
risk impacts.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with project teams and leadership.

Software Experience Required
• Scheduling: Microsoft Project
• Cost Management: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
• Experience with Power BI, Teams, and SharePoint is a plus
