External Job Description: HII Mechanical Inc. is hiring an experienced Project Manager to oversee and support its field services operations.
The ideal candidate must have 5+ years project management experience supporting outage work at commercial nuclear power plants with the ability to obtain/maintain unescorted access at nuclear facilities. Candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the expectations in safety culture, quality standards, budget and schedule adherence, and design requirements. Must be able to manage all aspects of field work including project preparation, setup, execution, demobilization while ensuring company guidelines and dose rates are adhered to.
Candidate must be able to interface with station leadership, manage work performance in accordance with the site's schedule and manage large workforces of supplemental craft workers associated with industrial operations, welding and/or valve work. During non-outage times, position will be required to support in- shop activities at our Newport News, VA, locations to include business development opportunities aimed at growing outage/field services work.
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline or the equivalent in education, training and experience, plus a minimum of 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience. Master's degree and 4 years relevant experience.
Candidate must be able to support any shift, as well as work hours beyond a standard work week.
