As a pipefitter, you can expect to take a test in which you must demonstrate in a practical exam environment in a booth, the ability to meet our minimum standards for adequacy / demonstrate competence / proficiency in Fit, tack, thread, bend pipe, and perform laterals. You will be asked to create a basic pipe assembly, from point A to point B. The exam will require you to demonstrate ability to perform a 45 degree and 90 degree offset, typically on steel pipe. You will be required to execute on what the print says. The exam will testy your ability to fit up a socket weld and a butt weld; thread a pipe into valve, and position the valve correctly.
As a Pipe Welder, you have qualified for assignment because our review of your qualifications and experience presented on your resume make us confident you can pass our test and support our needs in pipe welding. You can expect to take a test in which you must demonstrate in a practical exam environment in a booth, the ability to meet our minimum standards for adequacy / demonstrate competence / proficiency in meeting our standards as a pipe welder.
Our pipe welding work typically requires knowledge and experience in:
* Carbon Steel Pipe
* 6010, 5P: Stick welding and Fillet passes
* 7018: Stick welding and cover passes
* Proficiency in both 6G and GR positions (as demonstrated in test); and
* Ability to perform mirror welding in 6 GR situations.
