NSC Technologies is currently seeking Pipefitters with 4-5+ years first class/journeymen level experience for an exciting project in Marinette WI. This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced journeymen to work on marine piping systems and contribute to major shipbuilding and modernization projects. Pay:
$30-32/hour & $150 per diem for travelers 80+ miles from shipyard.

Position Overview:
As a Pipefitter Journeyman, you will be responsible for the layout, fabrication, installation, repair, and testing of various marine piping systems such as Auxiliary Salt Water, Fire Main, Potable Water, Hydraulic, Compressed Air, Fuel Oil, Lube Oil, and Engine Exhaust systems. You will work according to specifications, NAVSEA/Military standards, and other regulatory standards like ABS and Military Sealift Command.

Repair, fabrication, and construction include the use of various shop equipment and tooling such as table saws, pipe threading machines, bending machines, drill presses, and brazing equipment.


Requirements of Marine Pipefitter:
Read and interpret ship piping drawings for layouts and installations
Install pipe hangers.
Read a ruler using inches and tenths.
Prep and fit-up backing rings.
Clean cut/break pipe with a grinder.
Hand prep V bevels.
Fabricate various details and assemblies from drawings.
Bend pipe from templates and use a hand bender.
Fit welded socket and fit brazed joints with/without inserts.
Qualifications & Experience:
4-5+ years of experience in pipefitting, with at least 6 years of experience in maritime pipefitting.
Strong knowledge of P-73 joint fit-up and Silver Brazing theory.

BRAZE TEST:
CuNi to Bronze (2F and 5F) restricted
CuNi to Steel Sleeve (2F) restricted
Cooper to Cooper (2F and 5F) :
Thorough understanding of marine pipe fabrication, repair processes, and targeting.
Capable of interpreting drawings, specifications, and Navy/MSC/ABS standard items and manuals.
Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and familiarity with both U.S. customary and metric measurement systems.
Physically and medically capable of wearing all required PPE, including hard hats, respirators, safety harnesses, and other safety gear as per OSHA standards.
