NSC has an urgent need for structural flux core steel welders for shipbuilding production welding in Sturgeon Bay, WI

Job description:
Use a wide range of welding filler metals and welding processes to perform structural welds in all phases of ship construction.
Use Flux core (FCAW) welding process and demonstrate ability to pass hands-on test.
Weld all positions using both manual and mechanized processes and welds are required to satisfy all nondestructive test requirements (visual inspection).
Perform these functions in environments of extreme heights, confined spaces, and various weather conditions within the shipyard environment.
Perform troubleshooting of minor welding equipment problems.

Qualifications:
You will be tested on your ability to weld a 2G (horizontal), 3G (vertical), and 4G (overhead) with the FCAW (Flux core) welding process using .045 wire.
All 3 tests will be done on a 3/8" plate V groove with a steel backing strip.
You will be responsible for knowing how to load welding wire into the machine and basic safety knowledge of using a grinder.
All completed tests will be inspected visually, and each test will have 1 face and 1 root bend.
