PeopleReady Skilled Trades is now hiring Quality Assurance Inspector for Nassco's Norfolk yard in Norfolk, VA. A quality assurance inspector performs predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications for QA inspections and tests required to substantiate conformance to drawings, specifications, and contract requirements. Conducts surveillance audits in all phases and stages during ship repair. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of experience as an Quality Assurance Inspector in the marine shipyard industry. This position is temp to perm. Competitive pay from $25-$28 an hour DOE.

Technical/Associate Degree, preferably Q.A./Marine-related or equivalent, or 4 to 6 years of Quality Assurance inspection experience or equivalent trade related. Certified as a Non-Destructive Test Inspector Level II (includes VT, PT, MT, and UT) to NAVSEA TECHPUB requirements. If not certified, must be able to be certified if assigned these duties. Certified in accordance with the NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector (NBPI) course, NACE International Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level 1 or higher, or SSPC Protective Coating Inspector Program (PCI) Level 2. Knowledge of ship construction and repair procedures including welding, structural, machinery, electrical piping, ventilation and familiarity with various measuring instruments related to inspections.
