Pay: $30/hr + $120 daily per diem for days worked

Job Description:

As a Ship Fitter specializing in DOD Naval Ship Repair work at Jacksonville, FL, your primary responsibility will be to work on naval ship repair projects. You will be required to have access to Naval Station, Jacksonville, and be willing to submit to a background investigation. Proficiency in working with inserts, torch cutting, tack welding, beveling plate, washing welds, and using grinders will be essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

- Work on DOD Naval Ship Repair projects at Naval Station, Jacksonville.
- Conduct ship fitting tasks including inserts, torch cutting, tack welding, etc.
- Bevel, wash, and weld plates to meet project specifications.
- Utilize grinders and other metalworking tools for fabrication work.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure project completion.

Requirements:

- Experience in ship fitting, particularly in DOD Naval Ship Repair work.
- Proficiency in working with inserts and torch cutting for metal fabrication.
- Ability to tack weld and weld plates, including beveling and washing welds.
- Competence in using grinders and other metalworking tools.
- Reading and interpreting naval blueprints.
- Access to Naval Station, Jacksonville, and willingness to undergo a background investigation.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in metal fabrication and welding tasks.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities.

Education, Certifications, and Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience as a Ship Fitter, preferably with DOD Naval Ship Repair experience.
- Certification or training in ship fitting and metal fabrication is beneficial.

Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Working Hours: 50+ hours per week
