360X Staffing is hiring for Marine Painters in Jacksonville, FL.

Pay: $28/hr + $130 daily per diem for days worked

Job Description:

The Marine Painter is responsible for performing surface preparation and applying marine coatings to ships, structural components, and marine equipment in accordance with NAVSEA, SSPC, and NACE standards. The painter must safely operate spray equipment, follow marine coating specifications, and ensure all work meets Navy Quality Assurance (QA) and environmental regulation

Key Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation
Perform sanding, grinding, needle-gunning, power-tooling, and water blasting as required.
Remove corrosion, old coatings, and marine growth to achieve specified surface cleanliness.
Apply masking and containment systems for paint, overspray, and environmental compliance.
Inspect prepared surfaces for proper anchor profile and cleanliness.
Coating Application
Mix, thin, and apply primers, epoxies, urethanes, nonskid, and specialty coatings in accordance with C12 or C14 certification requirements.
Set up and operate spray painting systems (C14) including HVLP, airless, and plural-component equipment.
Apply brush and roller coatings (C12) in confined spaces, tanks, voids, and topside environments.
Ensure correct wet film thickness (WFT) and dry film thickness (DFT) using proper gauges.
Compliance & Documentation
Follow NAVSEA Standard Item requirements for cleanliness, ventilation, cure times, and QA checkpoints.
Complete daily work logs, paint batch documentation, environmental forms, and QA records.
Participate in inspections with QA, coatings inspectors, or government representatives.
Safety
Properly use PPE including respirators, blasting hoods, fall protection, and Tyvek suits.
Follow all safety procedures for confined spaces, hot work boundaries, and hazardous materials handling.
Maintain compliance with OSHA, shipyard safety policies, and environmental regulations for waste handling.
Requirements:

Minimum 2–3 years marine painting or industrial coating experience.
Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
Knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items, coating systems, and SSPC/NACE terminology.
Ability to read and follow job specifications, QA forms, and manufacturer technical data sheets.

Preferred Skills:

C12 Brush & Roller Application Certification and/or C14 Spray Application Certification (NAVSEA-approved)
Experience working on Navy ships or commercial vessels.
Understanding of blast media, profile measurements, and environmental monitoring (dew point, humidity).
Ability to identify coating defects (holidays, sags, pinholes, overspray).
Prior DBIDS eligibility for Naval Station access, if applicable.

Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Working Hours: 50+ hours per week
