We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Outside Machinists with Active Secret Clearance to support non-nuclear and non-nuclear SUBSAFE submarine maintenance and repair operations. Qualified candidates will perform precision machinist work on shipboard mechanical systems in accordance with Task Group Instructions (TGIs) and established Navy and DoD standards. This role requires a strong safety mindset, technical expertise, and the ability to work in confined and physically demanding environments.

Responsibilities

Execute daily assignments per Task Group Instructions (TGIs)
Perform non-nuclear and non-nuclear SUBSAFE machinist work on submarines
Inspect, maintain, repair, and install shipboard components including valves, pumps, and mechanical systems
Conduct work in tanks and confined spaces, including ladder access and tight working areas
Support submarine systems in areas such as torpedo rooms, rudder and planes, and watertight boundaries
Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and clearance requirements at all times
Qualifications

Proven experience as an Outside Machinist in a shipyard or submarine maintenance environment
Experience performing non-nuclear and non-nuclear SUBSAFE machinist work
Demonstrated ability to work from Task Group Instructions (TGIs)
Hands-on experience with shipboard systems including valves, pumps, shafts, bearings, rudder and planes, watertight doors, and torpedo room equipment
Proficiency in machining and mechanical tasks such as honing, milling, boring, seating surface restoration, equipment alignment, and motor greasing
Experience working in tanks and confined spaces, including use of ladders and working in tight or restricted areas
Ability to recognize and eliminate valve defects in accordance with Navy standards
Education & Certifications

High school diploma or GED equivalency required
All relevant trade certifications and training documentation must be provided and current
Security Requirements

Active, final-adjudicated Department of Defense SECRET clearance or higher
Must have been fully vetted by the subcontractor, including background and security checks
Work Schedule & Physical Requirements

Ability to work 8–10 hour shifts, 5 days per week
Willingness to work extended shifts, overtime, and weekends as required
Physically capable of performing shipboard work, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces
Pay Rate

***Lodging is included for travelers***
Hourly: $31.00 - $32.00
Per Diem: $86.00 (for meals and incidentals)
