Pay: $24/hr + $100 daily per diem for days worked

Job Description:

We are currently seeking skilled Marine Painters / Blasters to join our team, specializing in applying coatings and blasting on barges along the Ohio River in Southern Ohio. As a Marine Painter / Blaster, you will play a vital role in surface preparation, coating application, and blasting tasks to maintain and protect barges in a maritime setting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare surfaces on barges for painting by cleaning, sanding, and blasting to remove old coatings, rust, and contaminants
- Apply marine coatings to barges using various techniques such as brush and roll painting, as well as spray application
- Perform abrasive blasting operations to achieve the required surface profile for proper coating adhesion
- Ensure proper adhesion and coverage of coatings to protect barges from corrosion and environmental elements
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working in a maritime environment, prioritizing safety and quality workmanship
- Maintain and clean painting and blasting equipment for optimal performance and longevity
Preferred Skills:

- Proven experience as a Marine Painter / Blaster with expertise in surface preparation, coating application, and blasting on marine vessels or barges
- Knowledge of marine coatings, painting techniques, and blasting equipment used in the maritime industry
- Ability to interpret coating specifications and follow painting procedures to ensure proper coating application
- Understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to painting, coatings, and abrasive blasting operations
- Physical ability to work in maritime conditions, including outdoor environments along the Ohio River in Southern Ohio
- Certification or training in abrasive blasting, painting techniques, and coating application is desirable

Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Working Hours: 50+ hours per week
