NSC Staffing is seeking an experienced Journeyman Welder with Active Clearance. This position is ideal for highly skilled welders with extensive experience in shipbuilding, power plant construction, bridge construction, or large-scale commercial construction environments. Position Overview:
As a Journeyman Welder with an active clearance, this role requires in-depth knowledge of welding procedures, blueprint interpretation, and strict adherence to safety standards. You will work with multiple welding processes, including SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW, ensuring all welds meet applicable codes, specifications, and quality requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum six (6) years of verifiable welding experience in heavy industrial applications
- Proven experience in shipbuilding, power plant construction, bridge construction, or commercial building construction
- Proficient in SMAW, FCAW, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
- Strong knowledge of welding best practices and quality control standards
- Skilled in blueprint reading, layout procedures, and welding symbol interpretation
- Experience with grinding containments and related equipment
- OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 certification required
- U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Security Clearance
TESTING DETAILS:
1st part of the test is an 3" x 10" long, 1/4" fillet weld, in the vertical and overhead positions using 1/8" MIL-11018M.
2nd part is a 3-position plate butt weld test with a backing strip. Plate is 3/8" thick. Backing strip is 1/4" thick. These plates are welded using 3/32" and 1/8" MIL-11018M.
These three plates will be inspected by VT and RT (x-ray).
