360X Staffing is hiring for multiple MIG Welders in Cameron, TX.

Pay: $40/hr + $150 daily per diem for days worked

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Advanced MIG Welder capable of consistently producing high-quality welds that meet stringent MIL-STD-22 testing standards in a fast-paced heavy fabrication or defense manufacturing environment. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to successfully complete and pass 2G and 3G groove weld qualification tests utilizing multiple wire sizes and military-grade welding procedures. This position requires proficiency in GMAW/MIG welding, Air Arc backgouging, and working with backing strip test plates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform advanced MIG (GMAW) welding in: 2G Horizontal Groove 3G Vertical Groove
Weld structural and plate materials in accordance with: MIL-STD-22 requirements Approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) Customer and ABS inspection criteria
Operate welding equipment using wire sizes: .045 .047 .052
Perform Air Arc (Carbon Arc) backgouging to remove weld defects and prepare joints for full penetration welds.
Weld test plates utilizing backing strips while maintaining proper penetration, fusion, bead profile, and minimal discontinuities.
Produce welds capable of passing: Visual inspection Root and face bend testing Destructive coupon evaluation MIL-STD-22 acceptance standards
Prepare and fit materials including: Grinding Beveling Alignment Tack welding
Read and interpret: Blueprints Weld symbols Fabrication drawings WPS documentation
Maintain weld quality standards under strict inspection conditions with rapid turnaround expectations.
Work directly with QA personnel and inspectors during qualification testing and production welding activities.

Qualification & Testing Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to:
Pass: 2G MIG weld qualification test 3G MIG weld qualification test
Perform qualified welds on: Plate with backing strip Multi-pass groove weld configurations
Successfully complete: Coupon cutting Guided bend testing Same-day inspection review
Work under testing witnessed and verified by: ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) inspectors
Meet all applicable: MIL-STD-22 weld acceptance criteria Internal QA/QC standards

Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of advanced MIG welding experience in heavy industrial, shipbuilding, military, or defense fabrication environments.
Proven experience with: 2G and 3G welding Air Arc backgouging Multi-pass weld procedures Backing strip applications
Strong understanding of: Weld penetration and fusion control Heat input management Distortion prevention Weld discontinuity repair
Ability to consistently produce x-ray or bend-quality welds.
Experience working with military specifications and third-party inspection agencies.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous shipyard, defense, or pressure vessel fabrication experience.
AWS certifications preferred.
Familiarity with ABS welding procedures and inspection protocols.
Experience with destructive testing environments.
