Pay: $26-28/hr + $150 daily per diem for days worked

Job Description

We are seeking experienced 1st Class Structural Welders for a heavy shipyard construction project. Candidates must have extensive experience with Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) and ceramic tape backing while producing high-quality structural welds in all welding positions. Successful candidates must demonstrate exceptional welding skills, pass required testing, and work safely in a fast-paced shipbuilding environment.

Responsibilities
Perform structural welding using the Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) process.
Weld structural steel in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
Complete full-penetration welds utilizing ceramic tape backing.
Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
Produce welds that meet shipyard quality standards and project specifications.
Safely operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain welding machines and related equipment.
Perform work in accordance with all shipyard safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of structural welding experience, preferably in heavy shipbuilding, ship repair, or heavy industrial fabrication.
Current hands-on experience with Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW).
Current experience using ceramic tape backing.
Proven knowledge and proficiency in heavy shipyard structural welding in all welding positions.
Ability to read and interpret approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), blueprints, and weld symbols.
Strong knowledge of welding equipment, proper setup, basic troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.

Working Days: Monday - Saturday

Hours: 50+/week
