What Youll Do

As a First Class Pipefitter, youll be at the heart of complex shipbuilding projects, responsible for:
* Reading and interpreting ship piping drawings with accuracy
* Fitting a variety of piping systems including carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel
* Performing end prep using hand tools or Portsmouth machines
* Installing pipe hangers and ensuring proper alignment
* Measuring with precision using inches and tenths
* Preparing and fitting backing rings
* Cutting and shaping pipe using grinders and hand tools
* Hand-prepping V-bevels and performing detailed fit-ups
* Fabricating assemblies directly from technical drawings
* Bending pipe using templates and hand benders
* Fitting welded socket connections and brazed joints

What You Bring

* 5+ years as a First Class Pipefitter
* (marine, nuclear, or petrochemical environment preferred)
* Strong ability to read and work from complex piping drawings
* Hands-on experience with multiple piping materials and systems
* Proven fabrication and fitting expertise
* Solid measurement and layout skills
* U.S. Citizenship required
