Job Overview

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Tugboat Captains to lead vessel operations within our water transportation fleet. As a Tugboat Captain, you will be responsible for safely maneuvering tugboats to assist larger ships, barges, and other marine vessels in confined or busy waterways. Your expertise in maritime safety, vessel handling, and crew management will ensure smooth operations while adhering to all regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience in water transportation industry roles with a strong background in vessel handling and maritime operations.
Extensive knowledge of maritime safety procedures, USCG regulations, and water transportation equipment maintenance.
Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively as a ship supervisor, including crew management and maritime crew communication skills.
Mechanical knowledge related to vessel systems, rigging, heavy lifting gear, and boat handling techniques.
Strong understanding of marine navigation systems, vessel management, and water transportation industry standards.
Requirements

Current U.S. Coast Guard Master of Towing Vessels License (Required)
Valid MMC and TWIC
Current Medical Certificate
Great Lakes towing experience preferred
Strong leadership and communication skills
Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
Schedule
