Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:45 PM, Monday–Sunday

About the Position

Nationwide Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Warehouse Associates for a long-term opportunity with a leading shipbuilding and industrial client in Norfolk, Virginia.

We are looking for dependable, safety-conscious individuals with experience in warehouse operations, material handling, shipping and receiving, inventory, and forklift operation. Shipyard or industrial experience is highly preferred.

This is a hands-on position supporting daily material movement and logistics operations in a busy shipyard environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, unpack, and organize incoming materials.
• Verify shipments for quantities, damage, and proper documentation.
• Identify and properly stage materials according to type, size, specification, and location.
• Pull and prepare materials for delivery to various work areas.
• Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks safely.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Move and stage materials throughout warehouse and industrial areas.
• Assist with physical inventory counts.
• Maintain accurate inventory and material records.
• Complete material transfer and shipping/receiving documentation.
• Research material requests using computer systems.
• Process returned materials for replacement or credit.
• Maintain organized storage areas, racks, shelves, and bins.
• Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, logistics, material-handling, or shipping/receiving experience.
• Forklift experience strongly preferred.
• Experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts is a plus.
• Shipyard, manufacturing, construction, or industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to read and complete basic paperwork and documentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, pull, and move materials.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to work in an industrial/shipyard environment.
• Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
• Must be able to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.
