PMQS – Project Quality Management Quality Services is hiring experienced Pipefitters for a long-term opportunity in Newport News, Virginia.

Pay Rate: $35/hour
Per Diem: $120/day for qualified non-local candidates
Location: Newport News, VA
Contract: 2 Years
U.S. Citizenship: REQUIRED
Background Check, Drug Test & Respirator Fit Test: Required

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a First Class Pipefitter in marine, commercial nuclear, or petrochemical environments
• Must be able to read and interpret ship piping drawings
• Experience fitting Carbon Steel, CRES, and Copper-Nickel (CuNi) piping

Required Skills

• End-prep piping by hand and/or using Wach or Portsmouth machines
• Install pipe hangers
• Read a ruler using inches and tenths
• Prep and fit backing rings
• Clean, cut, and break pipe using a grinder
• Hand-prep V-bevels
• Fabricate various details and assemblies from drawings
• Bend pipe from templates and use a hand bender
• Fit welded sockets
• Fit brazed joints with or without insert rings

Additional Requirements

Candidates must successfully complete all required pre-employment requirements, including:

• Background check
• Drug test
• Respirator fit testing
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
