PMQS – Project Quality Management Quality Services is hiring experienced Deck Electricians for a 2-year opportunity in Newport News, Virginia.
Pay Rate: $17.34–$27.31/hour
Per Diem: $120/day for qualified non-local candidates
Location: Newport News, VA
Contract: 2 Years
U.S. Citizenship: REQUIRED
Background Check & Hair Follicle Drug Test: Required

Position Description
Deck Electricians are responsible for the installation, repair, overhaul, and operational testing of electrical systems aboard ships.

Work may include:

Lighting systems
Power distribution systems
Communication and navigation systems
Lighting and receptacle hookups
Installation of wireway racks
Cable installation and terminations
Equipment rebuilding
Installation of electronic controls
Preventative maintenance
Stud welding for mounting equipment
Required Experience
Minimum 3 years of electrical experience
Industrial, marine, or commercial nuclear electrical experience accepted
Required Skills & Qualifications
Read and interpret shipboard electrical installation drawings, wiring tables, schematics, and work packages
Proficient with electrical meters and test instruments, including volt-ohm meters, clamp-on ammeters, and insulation resistance testers
Lay out and mount electrical equipment and wireways
Install cable penetrations through equipment, bulkheads, and decks
Perform cable installation and cable terminations
Perform cut-in and hook-up work
Proficient with electrician hand tools, including pliers, wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, and connector crimping tools

Must pass a background check
Must pass a hair follicle drug test prior to employment
