Project Management Quality Services (PMQS) is actively hiring experienced Structural Welders (Pulse Arc) for a long-term opportunity in Goose Creek, South Carolina!

POSITION DETAILS

Position: Structural Welder – Pulse Arc
Location: Goose Creek, SC – Manufacturing Facility (NOT a Shipyard)
Starting Pay: $38/hour
Pay After Passing Pulse Arc Test: $45/hour
Per Diem: $120/day for qualified non-local candidates
Contract Duration: 6+ Years

IMPORTANT: RECENT SHIPYARD EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!

Candidates MUST have applicable experience working in a shipyard within the past 3 years.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

High school diploma/GED plus 5 years of additional education and/or related experience, OR a relevant apprenticeship/associate degree plus 3 years of related experience.

Experience performing structural welding on aluminum and steel components.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.

Experience welding metal parts and assemblies to required tolerances.

Knowledge of welding quality standards and inspection procedures.

Welding certification may be required.

WELDING TEST REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must be prepared to complete the following tests:

1. PULSE ARC (GMAW-P)

2G, 3G, and 4G plate positions

1-inch plate thickness with backgouging

Visual Testing (VT) and Side Bend Testing

2. SPRAY TRANSFER (GMAW)

2G plate position

3/4-inch plate thickness

Visual Testing (VT) and Side Bend Testing

3. FLUX-CORED ARC WELDING (FCAW)

2G, 3G, and 4G plate positions

3/4-inch plate thickness with backing

Visual Testing (VT) and Side Bend Testing

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform structural welding on aluminum and steel parts and assemblies.

Determine weld layouts using engineering drawings and specifications.

Produce welds that meet required tolerances and quality standards.

Inspect and verify completed work according to established quality procedures.

Follow all applicable safety regulations and welding procedures.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Shipyard experience within the past 3 years is mandatory.

Must pass a Hair Follicle Drug Test (HFT).

Must pass a Background Check (BGC).

Must meet required confined-space, respirator, fall-protection, and PPE qualifications.

Must be comfortable working in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
