MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field or equivalent work experience;
• 2 or more years of work experience in database entry and support with experience in the use of GIS and AutoCAD;

KNOWLEDGE IN THE USE OF THE FOLLOWING SYSTEMS/APPLICATIONS
• Principles and practices of GIS, GPS, and cartography;
• AutoCAD software and file structures, as they relate to GIS applications;
• Source data used to create maps;
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access);
• GIS software (ArcGIS, Smallworld GIS);
• Demonstrated effective analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills;
• Business and technical understanding of the applications;
• Ability to integrate source data into systems of record;
• Ability to effectively interact with both business and technical staff, provide quality customer service and support users with inquiries;
• Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough in reviewing data for accuracy; and
• Ability to facilitate training.

THE TASKS TO BE PERFORMED BY THE GIS SPECIALIST INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
• Edit and transpose complex data from records, maps, AutoCAD drawings, GPS, county landbase maps and other source documents into Piedmont’s geographic Information System (“GIS”) and/or related systems;
• Read and interpret maps and other source data;
• Maintain asset systems data by entering as-built data into systems of record in a timely manner, maintaining pipeline records on GIS, processing GPS data, preparing and printing detailed drawings;
• Work on project designs by plotting routes, fittings, valves, encroachments, Right of Ways (“ROW”), preparing design field drawings, anode, valve drawings, and producing construction prints (as applicable);
• Perform geocoding tasks;
• Perform in-depth quality review of data entered by other users and provide feedback to the users; and
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Piedmont Representative.

**Candidates with GE Small World experience are ideal, also manager would prefer to see candidates that have experience/knowledge of Editing information in GIS and not just analyzing it.
