Client is in need of a Substation Testing/Commissioning Specialist for the project.
Requires fourteen years of applicable electrical testing experience.
Must have a good understanding of transmission level protective relaying schemes and exhibit advanced knowledge of electrical industry standards.
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership skills, attention to safety, strong analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
Must be advanced in the use of electrical testing equipment and tools.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure the performance of all field testing on high voltage substation equipment is completed accurately and safely.
Capable of developing and executing substation equipment and relaying test procedures to ensure proper operation of yard equipment.
Provide technical instruction, mentoring, guidance with regard to substation systems and electrical power systems to field testing technicians.
Responsible for identifying problems with design, installation, or commissioning of high voltage substations.
Tasks include producing test and commissioning documentation, advising on testing commissioning procedures, monitoring progress and analyzing test results, overseeing teams of technicians and ensuring they are inline with all health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance of testing QA/QC processes, and regularly meeting and corresponding with Project Manager or Client with responsibility to act independently on technical matters related to testing & commissioning.
Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Power & Controls, or equivalent. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
