DN204925 FIELD PROJECT MANAGER - NORTH BEND, OH 12 MONTHS
This position reports to the Manager of Transmission Project Management and supports the Transmission Project Managers (PM), who are responsible for the safe and successful execution of Transmission Substation, Line and Relay construction projects throughout the Ohio and Kentucky Service Territory.
Responsible for providing the on-site point of interface between the PM and the construction crews and oversight specialists (inspectors) working projects assigned to the PM.
Required to understand the scope of the work required by the project and will review and assess the construction plan to achieve the scope of work, as developed by the construction contractor or Duke Energy Construction supervisor.
Will monitor progress to the plan, assess problems and issues experienced by the construction contractor, and maintain a regular reports/communications of findings with the PM to include but is not limited to progress to plan, productivity, staffing at site, and labor, material, public relation issues.
Face-to-face communication between PM, Construction and construction contractor is critical for all of the projects, meetings with Transmission Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, Material Planning, Work Management, Operations, etc. to understand project scope, schedule, costs, risks, etc.
Participate in Transmission project team meetings as requested, ensure there are suitably detailed construction work plans and schedules developed by and to be followed by those performing the work, including any ECC and, or DCC clearance or plant-specific requirements
Represent the PM in meetings with Construction, contractors, etc. as needed , represent the PM in project related readiness reviews prior to different phases of the work activities, be the lead safety advocate and human performance champion on behalf of the PM
Document and report any safety event and any engineering or construction errors, establish yourself as the PMs Single Point of Contact (SPOC) in the field with Construction and construction contractors and other Duke construction organizations such as generation or distribution
Conduct on site meetings with groups performing work, document and share notes with PM and Project Controls Specialist (PCS) weekly, maintain and publish weekly progress reports pertaining to construction schedule with integrated activities for all groups performing and pertaining to the project
Collect input from all assigned resources (Transmission contractors, company crews, other involved entities), escalate issues to PM that cannot be resolved locally on site
Support CMV Oversight with communication and enforcement of site specific requirements for contractors and subcontractors, understand and recommend to PM approval/disapproval of all significant change orders before work is performed, provide input to PM and PCS on documented risks including when triggered or closed
Be an HP champion and report good catches and events to PM for entry into PlantView capture Lessons Learned and share with PM for incorporation on this and future similar projects
Logistics Computer, docking station, monitor, printer and phone will be supplied by Duke Energy Mileage will be turned in on expenses
Time should be charged to the specific schedule projects appropriately based on effort
Safety training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suitable for the transmission or distribution substation environment is required.
Two year degree and 5 plus years of work related experience or 7 plus years related experience in lieu of a degree
Bachelor's Degree and 6-8 years of similar construction work experience.
Working knowledge of project management related systems and tools, e.g., Primavera, MS Project, Maximo, MS Office (word, excel, access, etc.). ·
Substantial specific knowledge in construction areas such as electrical, relaying, apparatus, substation and line construction. ·
Substantial knowledge of industry substation, apparatus, relaying and line construction practices.
