DNJP3085 SITING SPECIALIST TRANSMISSIONS PLAINFIELD, IN OR CINCINNATI, OH LONG TERM
Responsible for assisting with the submittal of Clearing, Foundation, and Electrical work packages for transmission.
Utilize PLS-CADD design software for pole spotting, conductor sagging, and structural analysis, preparation of initiation, route site, one-lines, permit drawings, plan profile drawings, and other documents required for work package submittal.
Utilize Auto CAD to manipulate existing and create new CAD files Summary
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute successful siting projects, responsible for ensuring that siting transmission facilities meets federal, state and local laws and regulations in addition to corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
Ensure consistent practices in siting transmission facilities and also consistent filings for these facilities.
Maintain project schedules and accountability for meeting specified schedules for siting tasks, track project schedules and tasks in Primavera.
Prepare siting project reports, serve as a siting subject matter expert and provide specialized technical expertise and judgment to resolve siting issues.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge on land use, siting, permitting, and environmental laws and regulations and a working knowledge of technical aspects of siting requirements.
Evaluate and review basic proposed and existing codes, standards, regulations and guidelines to determine the impact on company programs and facility operations and assists in comments to the project team.
Provide expert testimony on siting projects.
Bachelors degree in engineering, science or other related field of study
Minimum of seven years of experience
Proficient in ArcGIS
Excellent negotiating skills with regulators and the public.
Seven years of experience siting or supporting land development projects within multiple regulatory jurisdictions.
Professional certification/license (e.g. Project Management Professional, AICP Certified Planner, Professional Engineer, Professional Landscape Architect)
Experience working for a regulated electric utility.
Demonstrated ability to successfully influence outcome with a high level of collaboration.
Experience supporting and managing land-development or linear projects.
Demonstrated ability to manage/lead personnel from diverse groups working toward a common goal or objective
Experience in the utility industry.
Understanding of basic principles of project management
