Overview: TRC is currently seeking a Project Safety Specialist to support utility construction projects in the Bay Area of Northern California. As a Project Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for working with the project team to implement the project health and safety program. Responsibilities will include developing and implementing Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans, conducting and developing training, performing site audits and observations, incident investigations, and participating in internal and client meetings.

Major Job Elements:

Manage project health and safety program
Ensure provisions of Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan are complied with and reporting, investigations and training requirements are carried out in a timely manner
Provide assistance to project management to ensure compliance with TRC and Client safety policies
Assist in investigating incidents and developing required corrective actions
Administer safety incentive programs
Administer company drug and alcohol program
Conduct and participate in safety audits and observations
Coordinate safety training activities for the various project
Inventory and order safety supplies and materials as needed
Maintain and monitor a safety budget

Requirements:
5+ years relevant safety management experience in power transmission and distribution construction or a Bachelor's Degree in a safety related field plus 2+ years' safety experience working with power transmission and distribution construction
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Current certification as qualified OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour program instructor
Computer skills needed with knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Construction safety, current federal, state and provincial safety requirements experience required
Certification such as a Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) preferred
