DNJP7705 - DESIGN ENGINEER CHARLOTTE, NC 13 MONTHS NO PD
ReNuke Services is seeking a self-starting, motivated individual to provide subject matter expertise on the design, installation, configuration, and testing of physical security systems. This individual should be knowledgeable and have practical experience with all of the following:
General fencing design and installation, especially operator (automated) vehicle gates integrated into access control systems, with
HID-based facility access control systems, preferably AMAG Symmetry
Video Management Systems, preferably Salient CompleteView, GE TruVision, and Panasonic DVR, including knowledge of analog and IP-based surveillance cameras, including stationary, PTZ, IR illuminated, and infrared.
Intrusion Detection Systems, such as fiber-base fence vibration systems, general video analytics alarming, LiDAR, infrared, or other beam-based detection alarming systems
This individual will be expected to support facility management projects where security systems (1 or more as noted above) are installed as part of new building construction projects, building renovation projects, or stand-alone security system installations, upgrades, or changes. This support includes Subject Matter Expertise to review, understand, and provide feedback on a Physical Security Assessment. This individual will then ensure the security systems are installed to meet the requirements of this
Defining or reviewing design specifications for submittal to integration contractors, review bid packages to ensure these meet specifications, inspect ongoing installations, provide feedback to project management, complete system configuration documentation, and complete final system acceptance testing and identification of punch-list items.
This role is expected to collaborate closely with the Enterprise Protective Services Operational Security, EPS SR&C, and EPS Access Control Office to manage, assess, design, program, and test security systems for the company.
or all types of facilities, including, Generation Plant facilities, Transmission and Distribution substations, general corporate headquarters, and remote office facilities. They are the subject matter expert for security system design and standards.
Ability to pass a NERC CIP PRA background check
Physical ability to work in a power generation and power transmission environment, and in particular, the ability to properly assess safety issues, including proper use of all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and understanding and meeting all safety practices. Working safely is a requirement.
(Preferred but not required) At least 5 years experience in security system installations and operations
(Preferred but not required) At least 3 years experience with facilities or real estate management duties
Project management experience
Project scheduling experience
Must be able to develop security assessments, minor scope of work documents, technical scope of work documents, and project charters
Security system design and installation experience such as access control, IDS systems, and CCTV systems.
Knowledge of physical security perimeter standards
(Preferred but not required) At least 5 years experience in security system installation to meet NERC CIP compliance or 2 years NERC CIP-014. Experience with FERC Hydro Security, CFATS, MTSA and TSA physical security desired.
Working knowledge of building codes, and NFPA fire codes.
Experience providing support to technology project teams installing/upgrading server-based security system software
Experience providing support to project teams installing new security system installations
Ability to travel up to 80% of the timetravel to be in Duke Energy Service territory (primarily IN, KY, OH, NC, SC, FL, and TN, but could be other US sites)
OTHER JOB DUTIES
Support Customer requests card access, CCTV, IDS, Physical Security.
Reviews and comments on the EPS OP SEC security assessment/minor scope of work
Provides a technical security scope of work to Facilities project manager
Reviews and comments on design drawing packages to ensure that the EPS OP SEC recommendations and EPS Security Standards are being met during the design and construction phases.
Provides physical security and security systems subject matter expertise, including answering and resolving technical questions from project teams.
Provide programing configuration worksheets to the EPS ACO for card access, monitor points, IDS points, and CCTV configurations
Completes and participates in the QA and final testing of security systems.
Provide ongoing oversight for EPS security specifications and standards.
Maintain all required project-specific documentation, e.g., as-built drawings, checklists, etc. Project Evaluation and Testing
Reviews, evaluates and tests new security systems.
Provides product recommendations and specifications for door, gates, fencing, card access systems, and CCTV systems to harden security in facilities.
This is an entry level position requiring an Associate Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent work experience. Work is performed under close supervision. At this level Workers develop knowledge of work unit and department practices and procedures. Typically spends some time training in the operation of computer hardware and software applications to support the work unit; interpreting and understanding the significance of engineering symbols; and/or preparing drawings or sketches using CAD or drafting instruments. Workers perform simple design assignments which may involve trigonometric computations
