If you have experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of high voltage electrical and mechanical equipment and associated systems assigned to Substation Construction and Maintenance (SC&M) group we want to hear from you!

As a Substation Technician, you will be responsible for:
Technician will assist or direct others and will also work independently installing, adjusting, and troubleshooting equipment assigned to SC&M.
Technician will know and follow existing practices and procedures and develop new procedures, instructions and drawings as required to fulfill the responsibilities of SC&M.
Technician will verify that equipment, documentation, and prints meet applicable specifications and standards and modify drawings to reflect as built changes.
Technician will participate in a training and development program to achieve a comprehensive knowledge of electrical fundamentals, electrical transmission and distribution equipment and its operation, and a high degree of skill in routine SC&M functions.
Technician will request the proper clearance for work being performed and carry out specified switching orders, having been properly trained and certified to do so.
Technician will be proficient in the use of construction equipment, test equipment and tools required for routine maintenance and installation of equipment assigned to SC&M, such as man lifts, bucket trucks, earth moving and trenching equipment, welders, benders, electronic transformer and breaker testing equipment, etc.
Must have at least 12 months experience as an Intermediate Substation Equipment Technician and have successfully completed all training and testing programs required to advance to this classification. Alternately, employee may demonstrate equivalent work experience and training and meet all testing requirements necessary to qualify for this position.
Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems experience.
Licensures and Certifications: NETA or NICET, Electrical Technician, Class A CDL
Education: High School Diploma.
Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications
Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors
Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
