Airswift has been tasked by one of our major renewable energy clients to find a Project Manager E&C to work out of their Juno Beach, FL office on Early-Stage Transmission Substation projects.
The E&C Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the project once the project is turned over for field execution.
The size of the projects range from 200 million to 1.5 billion dollars per project.
All the project associated departments (Development, BM, PC, Engr, ISC, etc.) answer to the PM during the field execution phase.
Specifically the PM is responsible for:
1) Staff and Employee Management;
2) Safety Management;
3) Contract Administration;
4) Project Management Planning;
5) Cost Management;
6) Time Management;
7) Quality & Schedule;
8) Commissioning and start-up of the facility;
9) set-up of operations' readiness;
10) Public Relations and Corporation Commication's liasion at the site and community level.
Responsible for managing the Early Stage (ES) process for High Voltage Transmission and Substation projects. ES Project Manager (PM) coordinates and supports the Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain and Construction resources through the pre-construction (ES) activities for Transmission and Substation projects within the Engineering and Construction Business Unit (E&C).
Duties include the critical coordination of project activities such as Budget, Schedule, Procurement, Engineering, Permitting, and Land. The ES PM is responsible for ensuring that each project is ready to be turned over to the construction PM with an executable construction plan (including schedule, budget, permits, risks & mitigations, etc.).
Day to day activities as the Early Stage Project Manager include assisting in the development of project plans with emphasis on constructability, schedule, and costs. The ES PM will coordinate multidisciplinary teams that includes Development, Land, Environmental, Procurement, Legal, Engineering, Operations, Interconnection support, etc.
Prepare Request for Proposal documentation in order to competitively source, select and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering and construction services.
Support the construction cost estimating team with assumptions and delivering financial model inputs to the respective business unit.
Generally responsible for representing the E&Cís interest on assigned projects, including presentations/briefing on current progress, issues and risk mitigation in meetings with various levels of management.
This position is not responsible for the site-based construction management.
Current portfolio of projects spans the US and Canada.
Bachelorís degree in engineering or construction management with experience in managing large scale (>$100MM) projects.
Excellent project management, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate clearly and document critical verbal communications via e-mail or meeting minutes.
Effectively balance scope, schedule, and costs on an ongoing basis. Manage change and ensure that all team members are ďon the same pageĒ.
Available to travel approximately 30% of the time.
Experience with large scale high voltage transmission and substation projects with a strong bias for action-oriented performers having solid business/commercial acumen.
