Project Director
Supporting the combined cycle power plant (Microgrid Project) in OH.
Work Location: Millersport, OH
Rate: Not Defined / need Candidates requested rate
Hours: Fulltime onsite, 4x10 schedule
Duration: Initially 6 months

About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic professional to lead the execution of our state- of-the-art combined cycle power plant project in Millersport, Ohio. This role will oversee the full lifecycle of the project from initial development of the 488 MW phase (comprising 320 MW from gas engines and 162 MW from combined cycle) through to the complete 1,344 MW buildout.
Key Responsibilities:
During the project development phase
Support the development team with project due diligence including project documentation review and preparation of risk assessment, feasibility study, investment memorandum, schedule, and constructability capex/opex budget.
Input into the procurement strategy to ensure the projects energy system and associated work packages are defined and allocated to key suppliers and contractors including the associated scouting and validation.
Establish the commercial framework and outline the requisite specifications for a supply and construction agreement within the procurement process.
Ensure the commercial and technical negotiation of the supply and construction agreement includes the flow down from the project document and identify the gaps.
During the project execution - design, construction, and commissioning phase
Lead and manage the project team and the external stakeholders until project completion and once Operations & Maintenance fully takes over the project, through weekly/month project meeting, develop action item list, assign tasks, define deadline delegate, control the status, report and inform the senior management on the project.
Enforce and teach policies, procedures, and project documents.
Enforce safety and environmental requirements through monitoring and reinforcing safety initiatives including the stop work authority.
Enforce corporate sustainability, create shared value, innovation and digitalization requirements through monitoring process efficiencies, procedure implementation and relevant KPIs on the project.
Represent the interests in a professional manner, managing relationships and project communication with customers, suppliers, contractors, landowners, authorities and community, stakeholders and senior management.
Oversee the creation and customization project specifications for supply and construction work packages to meet plant or customer specific requirements.
Oversee the procurement process for supply and contractor (e.g., scouting, Commercial terms, RFPs, proposal evaluation, exhibit preparation, contract negotiations, claims).
Ensure proper execution of construction and supply agreements through supporting the review and negotiation process of all contracts and exhibits.
Lead and guide the management of Construction and Supply Agreements ensuring compliance during the execution in accordance with the project governance in case of any changes or claims.
Prepare and update weekly and monthly the reporting, the project schedule, the cash flow, the risk register etc for all the duration of the project execution.
Represent, facilitate, and provide the information on behalf of the project team during any type of compliance audits.
Review, evaluate and coordinate the schedule, the budget, the actual identifying, reporting, and implementing any necessary deviation, overruns, impact, and corrective actions.
Develop and implement a general Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plan (QA/QC Plan) for monitoring the project execution.
Manage the relationships with the suppliers and contractors as per the contractual agreement.
Coordinate the commissioning and witness the testing as per the commissioning processes and contractual requirement with vendor, contractor, and client.
Implement service and maintenance plans during the commissioning phase to guarantee a smooth transition to the commercial operations phase of the project.
Manage Project Closure and Close Out Reports with the relevant lessons learned.
During the operation and maintenance service phase
Coordinate with the supplier and the contractor to perform the punch list.
Support the team to process any major warranty calms.
Support the construction and supply contractual closing including any dispute or claims.
Support the team during external and internal audits.
Support the deployment and implementation of the software and digital platform to manage the project execution.
Develop and implement service performance KPI and dashboards for the stakeholder.
Develop and update operative procedures for the execution phase.
Coach, train and mentor the assigned resources in the project team to promote continuous skills improvement.
Provide mutual and peer feedback within and outside the project team and their functional supervisors to foster career development and employee growth within the company.
Support the implementation of innovation and digitization initiatives that increase efficiency and safety in project execution.
Requirements:
Minimum 15 years experience in key Project Team role within energy projects.
Expertise in distributed multi-technology energy systems as, BESS, gas engine, fuel cell, microgrid controls, work management, and asset management systems.
Strong knowledge HSE, OSHA, ISO, and other regulatory agency standards and requirements applicable to central plant and microgrid.
Up to 80% U.S. travel for project oversight, internal meetings and supplier visits.
Seasoned professional experienced in project management of central plant, microgrid, cogeneration plant and utility scale project.
Managed or was directly involved in at least 3 similar projects for technology and size in the key Project Team role under Project/Corporate Finance.
Track record of negotiating and managing different contract model and structure as EPC, LSTK, design build, progressive design, guarantee maximum price, and project finance.
Strong oral and written communication skills for effective engagement with different stakeholders.
Excellent customer relationship and interpersonal skills.
Ability to independently propose project scope and negotiate partnerships.
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degree
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or IPMA Level B or A
