Senior Construction Specialist – Oil & Gas / Heavy Industrial

Position Overview
The Senior Construction Specialist will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing large-scale industrial construction projects. This role partners closely with the Construction Project Manager to shape construction strategies, optimize work sequencing, and ensure field execution aligns with project goals.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Construction Project Manager to shape project execution strategies, offering expert input on constructability, work sequencing, and field readiness.

Provide on-site technical support across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation scopes, ensuring all work follows approved designs, safety protocols, and project milestones.

Direct and coordinate subcontractor activities, resolving field challenges and ensuring workmanship meets all project and quality standards.

Review drawings, models, and technical specifications to detect design discrepancies, clashes, or inefficiencies, offering practical recommendations to avoid delays.

Develop and maintain essential project documentation—RFIs, field change directives, change order packages, and progress summaries—to support procurement, bidding, and project control functions.

Perform quantity takeoffs and verify contractor cost and labor proposals for completeness, accuracy, and cost competitiveness.

Track field progress, conduct routine QA/QC inspections, and ensure construction remains on schedule, within scope, and aligned with budget constraints.

Ideal Background

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

15+ years of experience supporting construction for Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, or other major capital projects. Background with companies such as Air Liquide, Air Products, Messer Group, Chevron, etc., is highly desirable.

Demonstrated perseverance and strong follow-through — someone who consistently drives solutions and pushes projects forward.

Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical and project information in both written and verbal formats.
