Maintenance Specialist (PSO) - Level C (TVA1JP00002820)
Maintenance Specialist working within Power System Operations, supporting transmission asset management and equipment condition monitoring.

Work Location: Chattanooga, TN
Estimated Start: 12/15/2025
Estimated Duration: 2 years
TVA Per Diem: $1,500 / month

Position Description:
As a staff Senior Maintenance Specialist, develops and evaluates maintenance programs for specified equipment in the TVA power delivery grid or transmission communication system. Reviews performance of components and associated program requirements analyzes effectiveness of maintenance methods and procedures and initiates maintenance program and/or design changes to address identified improvements.

Applies advanced, contemporary knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of operation support specialties for the completion of projects of major scope that may include a variety of difficult/complex features.
Develops or implements preventive maintenance activities for specified components. Develops diagnostic techniques and sets standards for work performance and material stocking levels for maintenance of the specified components.

Review the effectiveness of maintenance activities and recommend changes to improve productivity, equipment availability, and reliability.
Develops maintenance procedures, identifies work methods, and resolves technical problems identified by technicians or craft personnel. Observes and evaluate methods and procedures used by maintenance crews or technicians and develop new, improved preventive and corrective procedures based on applicable OSHA, ANSI, IEEE, NESC standards, and TVA requirements.

Develops, identifies, and delivers technical training sessions on appropriate maintenance methods for power delivery components (from new to obsolete).

Supervisory responsibilities: may coordinate the work of other personnel in specialized diagnostic and repair work.

Position Overview
Seeking contractors to join TVA's Transmission Asset Performance Center (APC) team, part of the Asset Management organization.

Overview Includes:
• Working with instrumentation, communication protocols, data stores
• Working with data, analytics, and reporting systems in support of equipment condition monitoring

Candidates should reflect experience in:
• Instrumentation and controls
• Electric power transmission equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting
• Condition based maintenance, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, online monitoring
• Technology integration, Modbus, DNP, PI, Historian

Plus skills with:
• Database, Integration, Business Analysis
• Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning
• Reporting, Software Development, Programming, Coding
• PowerBI, Python, SQL

The Transmission Asset Performance Center (APC) helps reduce risks from aging equipment with improved planning, better maintenance, and early problem detection.
• Brings together data from inspections, tests, and new sensors into advanced analytics models to monitor equipment health
• Helps TVA decide when to repair or replace equipment
• Focuses work where it’s most needed
• Spots early warning signs and initiates action before small issues become big problems
