Journeyman Electricians - Afton, Virginia
Project: Midway Solar Project
Location: Afton, VA
Must have a state Journeyman Electrician license and a valid drivers license
Position Overview
Seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians to support the Midway Solar Project in Afton, Virginia. This is a long-term, non-exempt opportunity with the potential for continued work on subsequent projects based on performance.
Pay & Compensation
Pay Rate: $53.46/hour (Non-Exempt / OT eligible)
Per Diem: $120/day
Paid Monday-Friday
Saturday & Sunday per diem ($120/day) is paid only if the individual remains onsite over the weekend
Mob/Demob: $500 total
Project Duration
Start: Immediate
Duration: Now through August 2026
Continuation Opportunity: Strong performers will be transitioned to clients next project, extending work through December 2026
This is a long-term project with a clear path to continued employment for individuals who perform well and meet project expectations.
Requirements
• Must possess a Journeyman Electrical license in any state (VA is preferred)
• 3+ years of electrical experience is required
• Journeyman Electrician experience (solar project experience is preferred)
• Must be a US Citizen
• Preferably begins the MSHA-WV Electrical Apprenticeship Program
• Comprehensive knowledge of Industrial Services is preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of the NEC (National Electric Code)
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately
• Ability to work outdoors in a construction environment
• Must comply with all site safety and project requirements
• Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Responsibilities
• Provide general and skilled labor to industrial trades and to various construction and industrial projects
• Perform electrical installations and trouble shooting
• Communicate equipment and supply needs as needed
• Prepare time and materials (T&M) tickets, receipts, and other paperwork as required by the job
• Demonstrate knowledge of the installation of concrete pours and finishes, building and preparing forms, rebar, masonry, block laying, pipefitting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching and general labor as required
Physical Requirements
• Sit, talk, hear, read, and write
• Walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
• Kneel, stoop, bend, squat, and climb a ladder
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Work at a variety of heights
• Work in confined spaces
• Work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather
• Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
