Job Title: Senior Estimator – Electrical & Instrumentation (Oil & Gas)
Location: Remote (Texas or Colorado) | Optional office presence in Midland, TX or Grand Junction, CO
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)
Pay Rate: $67–$77/hour

Position Summary
The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical and instrumentation (E&I) cost estimates for oil and gas new construction projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge of E&I systems, hazardous area classifications, and industry codes, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed E&I estimates, take-offs, and bid proposals

Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to define scope, labor, and materials

Apply NEC, API, ISA, IEC codes and hazardous area classifications

Build labor productivity assumptions and installation strategies

Coordinate with engineering, project management, and field teams

Evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing

Identify risks, opportunities, and contingencies

Support bid reviews and continuous improvement of estimating processes

Required Qualifications

7–10+ years of E&I estimating experience (oil & gas preferred)

Strong knowledge of power, controls, instrumentation, and automation

Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills

Ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Accubid, ConEst, Trimble, or similar software

Field E&I construction background

Familiarity with AI tools to improve estimating efficiency
