Electrical Coordinator III

Position Overview
The Electrical Coordinator III plays a critical role in coordinating and overseeing electrical systems and construction activities related to power generation, transmission, and distribution.
This position ensures the safe, reliable, and compliant installation, maintenance, and upgrade of electrical systems in power plants, substations, and related facilities. The ideal candidate brings strong field coordination experience, working knowledge of medium and high-voltage systems, and the ability to manage contractors and complex electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
Abide by all safety rules and promote a strong safety-first culture
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and environmental standards
Ensure adherence to National Electrical Code (NEC) and other regulatory requirements
Enforce safety standards to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment
Project Coordination & Oversight
Manage electrical construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects
Develop and support project plans, schedules, and budgets
Facilitate work performed under lump sum contracts
Assist discipline lead with contract administration
Attend project meetings (pre-bid, pre-mobilization, contractor orientation, JSBs, etc.)
Coordinate electrical activities with project team members
Installation & Field Support
Identify installation issues and assist in developing corrective solutions
Ensure corrective actions are executed by contractors, vendors, or craft personnel
Oversee quality control of electrical systems and components
Monitor installation of:
Medium and high voltage systems
Conduits and cable tray systems
Cable supports and cable pulling operations
Maintenance & System Upgrades
Coordinate preventive maintenance and troubleshooting efforts
Plan and manage electrical system upgrades for improved efficiency and reliability
Support modernization of substations and control systems
Assist with renewable energy integration where applicable
Documentation & Record Keeping
Maintain detailed records of electrical systems, inspections, maintenance, and equipment specifications
Ensure quality requirements of plans, specifications, and standards are met
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
10+ years of related experience in electrical coordination or construction oversight
Experience in power generation, transmission, or distribution environments
Skills & Expertise
Self-starter with proactive leadership approach
Strong communication and coordination skills
Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations
Understanding of construction practices, techniques, and quality requirements
Familiarity with construction contracts and labor agreements
Ability to interface with contractors, designers, vendors, and project stakeholders
Working knowledge of medium and high voltage installation and commissioning
Knowledge of best practices for conduit, cable tray, supports, and cable pulling techniques
