The Lead Plant Operator oversees daily power plant operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance while meeting environmental, regulatory, and production goals. This role directs and develops plant operators, sets operational and maintenance priorities, monitors plant performance and data to optimize megawatt output, and responds to abnormal operating conditions. The position also ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations, maintains operational documentation and training programs, and supports maintenance coordination, inventory management, and hiring of operations staff. Candidates should have at least five years of power plant experience, including three years in combined cycle operations, with gas turbine and supervisory experience preferred, along with strong communication, organizational, and computer skills. The role requires working 12-hour rotating shifts, overtime or on-call as needed, and the ability to perform physical duties in an industrial plant environment.
