Site Lead – Instrumentation & Controls (Refinery)

💰 $85/hr + $1,000/week Per Diem

🕒 Schedule: 4x10s (Mon–Thurs, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) + OT Available

We are hiring an experienced Site Lead – Instrumentation & Controls to support a major refinery with Marathon Petroleum. This is a high-impact leadership role for a strong instrument tech ready to lead a team while staying hands-on in the field.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead and oversee a team of Instrumentation Technicians in daily maintenance and troubleshooting
Assign work, manage priorities, and coordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
Perform hands-on work including calibration, loop checks, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and control systems
Support planning and scheduling for maintenance, turnarounds (TARs), and small projects
Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with refinery standards (LOTO, PSM, permits)
Conduct field audits, quality checks, and mentor junior technicians
⚙️ Technical Scope:
Field instrumentation (transmitters, switches, meters, etc.)
Control valves, actuators, regulators
PLC & DCS troubleshooting
Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
Loop checks, calibrations, valve diagnostics
Reading P&IDs, loop diagrams, and schematics
✅ What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience leading instrument technicians (lead, foreman, or supervisor level)
Strong background in plant maintenance (refinery, chemical, power, etc.)
Advanced troubleshooting skills (not just following procedures)
Experience supporting or coordinating maintenance planning, turnarounds, or projects (preferred)
Hands-on experience with PLCs, DCS, calibration, and field instrumentation
