Constructability & Outage Sequencer supports the project management process by developing and coordinating outage sequence plans, collaborating with various teams to ensure feasibility, and managing the sequence through the end of construction. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines. This includes demonstrating leadership skills to the project team to complete the project successfully.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oral and written communications to executive-level reports and project teams.
Proficiency in technical writing and reporting.
Observe overall site compliance for proper safety practices and procedures and follow up with the appropriate reporting in accordance with proper protocol and procedure.
Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and execute independent activities while supporting team initiatives for ongoing project success.
Ability to effectively lead and contribute to important project meetings and discussions.
Utilize Energy Delivery Outage Application (EDOA), Energy Management System (EMS), GIS applications, OPPM, Cascade, and Microsoft Office Suite to plan and coordinate outages and support project delivery according to team standards.
Coordinate with the CAD Designer to produce outage sequence drawings.
Collaborate with internal and external Engineering, ROW Solutions, Construction, Commissioning, Communications, and Outage Coordination teams to create a feasible sequence.
Coordinate transmission and distribution switching schedules with field personnel, control centers, and project management to meet project deadlines.
Maintain compliance with Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland Interconnection (PJM) outage coordination requirements.
Work directly with the Transmission System Operator (TSO) and Regional Distribution (RDO) when applicable.
Attend and participate in walk-downs to:
Confirm the validity of clearance points and the practicality of proposed Outage Sequences.
Assist the Project team with scope discussions.
Develop specific checklists for each walk-down with the project team's assistance.
Analyze outage requests for contingencies and recommend operational improvements.
Revise outage sequence documents to ensure they satisfy Manual of Operations and other client requirements, and reflect changes in outage dates, clearance points, and scope as requested by Project Managers.
Document all meetings and discussions related to project constructability.
Provide input on construction methods and suggest alternative construction methods where applicable.
Ensure schedules are met by driving the completion of deliverables.
Engage with clients or external personnel to build and maintain key relationships.
Ability to manage an extensive portfolio of projects with demonstrated success.
Ability to be present on-site when needed. Travel and lodging near the project site may be required.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Knowledge - Works independently as a Constructability & Outage Sequencer, serving as a resource to less experienced co-workers. Resolves complex project reporting issues and communicates with management. Completes projects with a high level of competency and quality.
Job Complexity – Advanced skill level using project management and construction management principles and standards. Fully understands and educates others on the Client's timeline for successful project completion and the criteria used to determine project management success.
Supervision - Generally operates independently, with minimal feedback and review of ongoing work, and only general instruction on new projects.
Adaptability to Change - Adaptable to a customer-driven environment, resulting in frequent changes in when projects will be worked. Maintains client expectations and good communication to support those needs. Ability to meet deadline changes, project assignment revisions, and deliverables timing in a high-stress, high-volume work environment.
