Pay $45-$65 hour plus $110 per day ($770 weekly about $40k annually in per diem) NEAR CHARLESTON!

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Engineering Technician to support engineering projects related to generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial facilities. This role is ideal for someone with CAD drafting experience who enjoys working on technical projects, collaborating with engineering teams, and contributing to infrastructure improvements.

The Engineering Technician will assist with engineering drawings, project documentation, equipment specifications, standards updates, and continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates with experience using MicroStation or other CAD software are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Project Support
Create and revise engineering drawings for generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial facilities using CAD software
Assist with preliminary project designs, scopes, and cost estimates
Prepare purchase requisitions and material requests for substation and construction equipment
Support preparation of technical specifications to ensure equipment meets project and operational requirements
Coordinate with engineering and field personnel to support project execution and design accuracy
Continuous Improvement
Assist in researching and evaluating new technologies, materials, and design applications
Support initiatives focused on improving safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Work closely with office and field teams to gain familiarity with substation equipment and construction practices
Standards & Documentation
Update specifications, figures, and standard material catalogs
Participate in design and standards review meetings
Maintain accurate records and documentation within Oracle, iPort, and ECM systems
Coordinate with vendors regarding new products, technologies, and design improvements
Review and check drawings for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards
Qualifications
Experience using CAD software (MicroStation preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Familiarity with multi-function printers and scanners
Strong computer, organizational, and filing skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
