Job Summary
Southern Nuclear is seeking a Task Project Manager I to oversee assigned projects and work activities, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved project plans, schedules, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
The Task Project Manager will coordinate project resources, track progress, identify potential risks or delays, and communicate project status to key stakeholders. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a highly regulated energy or nuclear environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage assigned projects, tasks, and project deliverables from initiation through completion.
Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and action-item trackers.
Monitor project progress, costs, resources, risks, and timelines.
Coordinate activities among engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Ensure project work complies with applicable safety, quality, regulatory, and site requirements.
Identify project risks, delays, and resource constraints and support the development of corrective actions.
Prepare project status reports and communicate updates to management and project stakeholders.
Maintain accurate project documentation, records, schedules, and closeout information.
Support meetings, field activities, and project implementation efforts as required.
Minimum Education
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline.
Required Qualifications
Zero to five years of experience supporting or managing projects and tasks, preferably within the energy, utility, construction, or nuclear industry.
Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, priorities, and stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of project schedules, resource coordination, risk tracking, and project documentation.
Ability to work in a safety-focused and highly regulated environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional certification or progress toward PMP certification.
Previous experience supporting projects within the electric utility, power generation, nuclear, or energy sector.
Experience with project scheduling, cost tracking, and project-management software.
