System One is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to serve as the Mechanical Lead on major EPC power and industrial projects in Charlotte, NC.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Serve as Mechanical Lead on EPC power and industrial projects.
Lead mechanical design, coordination, and technical execution.
Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and status reporting.
Develop scopes of work, engineering deliverables, and job notes.
Prepare RFQs, evaluate bids, and review vendor documentation.
Conduct field walkdowns and support constructability reviews.
Lead and mentor engineers and designers and review technical work.
Interface with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
Support proposals and develop engineering man-hour estimates.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Seal and sign engineering documents as a PE, when applicable.
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
15+ years of experience in power, energy, or industrial projects.
Strong experience with:
Heat exchangers
Pumps and rotating equipment
ASME pressure vessels
Piping systems
Power plant equipment
CTGs / STGs / HRSGs
Strong knowledge of ASME codes and EPC execution.
Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Senior-level Mechanical Engineers with a strong power generation / EPC background who have progressed into technical leadership and project execution.
Experience with CTGs, STGs, HRSGs, rotating equipment, pressure vessels, piping, and ASME codes is particularly valuable.
PE license strongly preferred / required for applicable engineering responsibilities.
