Job Title: SR Structural Designer 1 or 2
2 - Immediate W2 contract position available in Birmingham, AL.
Estimated Duration: 23 months

Job Description / Desired Qualifications:
The SR Structural Designer 1 position requires 10+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience.
The SR Structural Designer 2 position requires 20+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience.

Job Responsibilities:
Producing 3D models and design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and/or ductwork.
Preparing layouts and conceptual designs.
Reviewing vendor shop fabrication drawings.
Preparing material takeoffs and assist with cost estimates.
Coordinating work with other disciplines, clients, and contractors.
Performing site walk-downs for field verification and to address constructability.

Skillsets and Expertise (Required):

• Proficient using AutoCAD, 3D modeling experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience in Microsoft/Bentley and/or Advanced steel structural software is preferred/
• Steel/concrete detailing background is a plus.
• Must be able to produce clear, concise drawing notes.
• Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
