Title- Mechanical Engineer (aerospace)
Type- contract
Duration- 12 months plus

Responsibilities:
Assignments are usually part of a larger engineering project including analysis of requirements, documentation of design, implementation, and integration of moderate to complex mechanical systems and components.
Core responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer II are:
Plan, analyze, design, test, and document hardware of high complexity and contribute to system integration.
Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team
Make sound, well-informed decisions
Some travel is required

Desired Skills:
Experience with ruggedization techniques for commercial hardware is a plus.
Knowledge of aircraft A-Kit electromechanical design
Knowledge of commercial and military electronic packaging form factors, chassis & electromechanical design, and analysis methods.
Ability to perform engineering analysis, both structural and thermal, is preferred.
Background in design including 3D modeling experience
Must have design experience on SolidWorks 3-D modeling toolset.

**P3 (SR MECHANICAL ENGINEER 1)**

Responsibilities:
Assignments are usually part of a larger engineering project including analysis of requirements, documentation of design, implementation, and integration of moderate to complex mechanical systems and components.
Core responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer are:
Plan, analyze, design, test, and document hardware of high complexity and contribute to system integration.
Proven track record in developing products for DoD applications
Estimate, track, and report project costs and schedules while managing scope & risk.
Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team
Ability to work proactively and be self-directed, requiring limited oversight
Some travel is required

Desired Skills:
Ability to quickly acquire technical domain knowledge and contribute to the design/implementation of sophisticated architectural systems.
Knowledge of aircraft A-Kit electromechanical design
Knowledge of commercial and military electronic packaging form factors, chassis & electromechanical design, and analysis methods.
Experience with ruggedization techniques for commercial hardware is a plus
Demonstrated ability to make sound, well-informed decisions
7+ years of experience in an engineering role
Familiarity with ANSYS (Mechanical/CFD++/Fluent) or other mechanical analysis software is a plus.
Knowledge of commercial and Mil Standards including RTCA DO-160 or MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-704F, MIL-STD-1275E, MIL-STD-1472H, RTCA DO-254
Must have experience including tracking schedules and budgets
Must have design and documentation experience on SolidWorks 3-D modeling toolset.

**P4 (SR MECHANICAL ENGINEER 2)**

Responsibilities:
As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will engage with the Mission System Integration team to provide direction to the hardware team and interact with technical disciplines. The candidate will serve as a hardware architect to plan, analyze, design, test, and document hardware of high complexity and contribute to system integration. Experience in requirements derivation, including hardware requirements derivation, is preferred.
Core responsibilities of the Principal Mechanical Engineer are:
Act as a mentor to engineers in additional areas including domain knowledge and lessons learned
Lead preparation of proposals and presentations
Estimate, track, and report project costs and schedules while managing scope and risk.
Plan, analyze, design, and review modifications and hardware of high complexity to contribute to system integration.
Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team
Demonstrated ability to make sound, well-informed decisions
Ability to quickly acquire technical domain knowledge and contribute to the design/implementation of sophisticated architectural systems
Some travel may be required

Desired Skills:
Must have design experience on SolidWorks 3-D modeling toolset.
Must have a background in the design and modeling of aircraft systems and/or subsystems
10+ years experience preferred
Knowledge of aircraft integration, including the applicability of SAE AS50881
Knowledge of MIL and Commercial Standards including MIL-STD-810G or RTCA DO-160
Requirements derivation, including hardware requirements derivation and development of hardware requirements specification
