Johnson Service Group, has an opening for an experienced IT Systems Administrator in Knoxville, TN. The person hired will report directly to the IT Manager

This is a Direct Hire position with our client.
Located in Knoxville, TN.

Basic Function:

The IT - Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operational activities of technical support, network administration, and systems. Will respond to requests submitted via internal online support ticket system, emails, phone calls, and in-person visits. Will also work on projects to help grow the organization's technology infrastructure.

Essential Duties:

Performing operating system upgrades in the Microsoft Windows environment after developing an upgrade plan and reviewing the plan with your manager. This includes but is not limited to implementing, maintaining, and enhancing the Microsoft Active Directory ('AD') environment.
with users directly to provide support while cross-training and documenting to enhance skills of users.
Installing new software and software upgrades after presenting a plan for user testing and migration to the new product level.
Monitoring system performance and proposing software updates or parameter changes to enhance system performance.
Developing a plan for testing, implementing, and measuring the results of system performance.
Maintaining required operating system security on all centralized Windows machines.
Developing, installing, maintaining and testing software to provide regular back-up and restore processing for all computers.
Performing backup process to include management of scheduling, media changes, offsite preparation, etc.
Assisting with the set-up, configuration, and maintenance of IP based security cameras.
Assisting in network printer set-up, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Working with hardware and software customer support service organizations as required to solve issues.
Sharing technical and functional expertise with other members of the team as required.
Documenting various processing procedures for use by other IT staff members.
Attending training sessions, reading instructional manuals, and reading industry periodicals to maintain a current understanding of the various operating systems and maintained software.
Performing related work as required.
Qualifications and Skills:

Organized, thorough, and has great attention to detail
Demonstrated working knowledge of hardware and networking basics
Able to install, configure, troubleshoot and support Windows clients and servers
Able to implement, test, and maintain EDI systems
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (versions 2007 2013)
High level of analytical thinking to solve problems with an understanding of technology as well as an ability to ask the right questions and apply solutions to business problems
Effective oral, electronic and written communication with all levels of the organization using top notch customer service
Does well with minimal "hands on" training and can pick up new skills quickly and can "take the ball and run with it"
Ability to multi-task and can handle frequent interruptions
Can consistently follow protocol and instructions
Can work independently with little management direction
Document process, procedures, and results
Fast and accurate keyboarding skills
Passionate, optimistic, and has internal inspiration to get things done
Physical Demands:

Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer as needed
Ability to lift and move computer and other IT equipment as needed
Has a valid driver's license, good driving record, and able to support remote locations if needed
Education / Experience:

Minimum of A.S. Computer Science or related degree;' preferred Bachelor degree
5+ years direct IT support experience required
3+ years customer service experience required
TSQL queries and data mining: SQL Server, Pervasive, Access experience required
Global Shop or other ERP system
Business intelligence: Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services
Virus/malware removal
SharePoint
.Net, AJAX, ASP, and/or Flash development
Barcode automation
TPS, Lean Manufacturing
Government contracts with EDI requirements
