ATSS Engineering is recruiting for one of our Client's, a Direct Hire, Full-Time Controls Engineer for their Mobile, Al. office.
Key areas of responsibility include the ability to design and create drawings for hard-wire control panels, PLC based control systems, CPU and HMI programming, and field support of such systems. Direct contact with existing and potential customers in person, on the phone and through email will be required in order to design, support and troubleshoot systems and technology. To promote the growth of the company by engaging in direct sales, sales support, equipment design and equipment production activities.
Critical to the success of the appropriate candidate will be quality workmanship, creative problem solving and organized and well documented work. The ability to convert general descriptions, mathematical formulas or basic system process flow diagrams into turn-key control and automation panels is required. Appropriate electrical design knowledge, calculations, industry standards, legal codes and best practices will be necessary to complete work in a safe, timely and cost competitive manner. The ability to work from customer supplied drawings, as well as the ability to create professional quality CAD generated electrical drawings is required. Further, the successful candidate will possess proper experience and in-depth knowledge of both hard-wire and PLC based control panels.
With regards to PLC capabilities, the qualified candidate will have prior working experience in design, selecting the hardware, and using the appropriate manufacturer's software to work with a wide range of PLC platforms including Siemens, Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc and others as required. Performing work safely is a top priority. The Electrical Engineer will be spending time in the shop around fabrication and testing areas and attention to safety and utilizing the proper PPE is required.
