Project Portfolio Specialist
Locations: Dallas, NYC, Chicago, KC, Denver, St. Louis, Portland, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Diego, Atlanta, Houston (other cities may be available as well)
Client: Engineering/Construction (EPC) - Fortune 500
Goal: Assist Project Controls teams with Implementation/Design/Configuration of Reporting/Project systems (Primavera). Includes Data Mapping, Organization, Set-up, etc.
-Competence in Microsoft Office
-Experience with Oracle Primavera Unifier is a plus
-Experience with Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management (OPPM) is a plus
-Experience with SQL Developer / Toad is a plus
-Provides thought leadership and contributes to expanding the knowledge base within the area of expertise
which includes developing new methods, techniques and criteria across businesses, functions, and regions
to align strategy and direction with corporate and divisional approaches, systems, information, and
-Ability to use and communicate advanced problem-solving tools and techniques.
-Lead efforts to promote and improve the effectiveness and consistency of internal portfolio practices,
procedures, tools, and systems.
-Develop training documentation and administer training on portfolio tools, processes, and procedures for
the collection of the Request for Project Approval (RPA) and Estimate information and reporting
-Communicate plans for changes/updates to the project portfolio (OPPM) system to end users and those
otherwise impacted by system updates.
-Champion for the annual budget cycle and within-year dynamic project requests within the Portfolio -------Management Team to provide sufficient rigor to justify the projects prior to submission.
-Facilitate the prioritization/scenario planning sessions with the business for the annual budget cycle.
-Collaborate project and portfolio management teams for creating and maintaining portfolio dashboards,
cost reports, round meetings, and management deliverables.
-Continuously improve the portfolio management process with best practices from external training and
conferences, including resource management and prioritization model enhancement
-Strong organizational planning, and understanding of portfolio management concepts
-Experience in developing and implementing capital project management portfolio strategies
-Skilled at solving multi-dimensional problems with both quantitative and qualitative variables
-Strong presentation skills and the ability to speak articulately across all levels of the company
-Comfort operating on both strategic and tactical levels
-Ability to lead and influence others in support of company objectives
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving, decision making and cross-functional teams
-Highly efficient with Oracle PPM, Unifier, BI Publisher, QlikView, SQL Developer, and MS Office
applications a plus
$40-45 per hour
