System One is seeking an IT Product Engineer for a long-term contract position with TVA based in Chattanooga, TN (remote work eligible through June 2021).
Job Summary / Purpose
Accountable for end-to-end life-cycle management of Microsoft Office products including research, design, testing, implementation, support, capacity and release planning.
Performs research and analysis of perspective new products or service.
Assists in defining product priorities, strategies and schedules in collaboration with stakeholders.
Engineers a product design solution (creates an engineering design package, leads design reviews, and performs impact and risk assessments).
Works with ITIL service management team to develop a service design package which details the impact on these processes; service level, capacity management and supplier management.
Develops schedule, scope, and coordination in order to execute implementation plans.
Develops capacity management plans.
Detailed processes with accountable roles identified.
Develops release management plans.
Provide established, agreed upon maintenance windows) develops, coordinates, and executes product support plans.
Responsible for the development of standards and guidelines that promote sound engineering, operations, and maintenance practices.
Meets scoped deliverables within planned budget, schedule and requisite quality.
Delivers creative designs and solutions that satisfy stakeholder needs and provide optimal business value.
Provides tier-III support.
Acts as the primary escalation path for department employees.
Knowledgeable in the ITIL service management life-cycle model.
Proven IT technical troubleshooting, project management and supervisory skills.
Ability to work with a cross-functional team of IT professionals.
Education and Experience/Certificates, Licenses, and Registration Requirements/Other Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related computer field; or equivalent education, training & experience.
Demonstrated competence in configuring, integrating, implementing, and supporting information systems.
Extensive leadership ability and experience with current and emerging state of the technologies, architectures, and products and their potential application to TVAs business needs.
Specific Skills Needed:
Individual will need to be familiar with standing up and recycling virtual machines for testing purposes.
Requesting / retiring VMs via Cloud Forms
Installing software (MS Office product related plug-in/add-in/scripts) and coordinating with customers to complete their testing.
Need to be very familiar with MS Excel, Access scripting and Power Automate to consult with business unit developers on updating and testing their scripts in O365 product versions.
Thorough knowledge of Office 365 products and how to use them.
Individual will need to be very organized and reliable to coordinate and track the use of the Lab resources with multiple testers, products and timeframes.
Knowledge of SharePoint Online update SharePoint site information
Experience with older Office versions (2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016)
Software troubleshooting skills (experience)
Experience with VMware virtual machines
Two resources needed for 6-9 months to facilitate the MS Office testing lab on capital IT PMO project.
TVA is currently in mandatory work from home status until June 2021. If resource is needed past that date, partial on-site attendance may be required.
