Network Engineer

NETWORK ENGINEER
MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
Education/Certification: A minimum of a B.S. degree in computer science or engineering is required. Advanced degree is preferred. 12+ years of highly relevant full-time working experience may be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of full-time, relevant working experience in network design and support including LANs, WANs, and wireless is required. Other required experience includes:
Design and supporting VOIP systems or QoS/CoS
Network protocols (BGP, MPLS, VPN, OSPF, TCP/IP, STP, etc.)
Authentication / authorization technologies (802.1x, NAC, Aruba Clearpass, Cisco ICE, or equivalent) and ACLs
VPN technology (site to site, IPSEC, always on VPN clients, etc.)
Experience with all levels of network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls, etc)
Supporting and working with environments supported by service providers.
Demonstrated technical documentation ability
Demonstrated professionalism and skills to communicate effectively with internal departments.
Preferred/desired skills and experience;
Working in a highly-regulated industry
Familiarity with Fortinet, HP Comware, & Aruba
Certifications in relevant areas (Cisco, Aruba, others)
Linux Support and Administration
Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
Quality Assurance: Demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 preferred.
