Job Title: UX Designer III
Location: New Orleans, LA
Duration: 6 Months
Pay: $103/hour nonexempt

Our client has a need for a UX Designer III. If you have the background we are looking for, and you are interested in an opportunity to get your foot in the door with a leading company, we want to talk with you!

Conduct, collect and analyze user behavior through concept testing, usability tests, user surveys and interviews, benchmark studies, A/B studies, competitive analyses, and other experience research methods.
Responsible for end-to-end user research: planning, recruiting, and conducting of user interviews, remote usability testing, surveys, video diaries, field visits, card sorts, etc.
Develop and standardizing research practices.
Mentor collaborators in research best practices.
Research market/competing products to understand new methods and experiences that we can improve on and implement.
Share insights across the team to help us understand the needs of our customers and users, inform design decisions, and improve the usability of our platforms.
Influence decision-making through effective presentation of findings, including the creation of customer-centered narratives to frame problems and highlight the business value of potential solutions.
Convey research findings into simple improvements for the product team (low-fi wireframing is a bonus).
Hands-on experience designing and conducting user research 1:1 with customers and groups.
Use research to influence product roadmaps and informed design decisions.
Contribute to the creation of short- and long-term research plans.
Translate user-centered design requirements into technical implementations for projects.
Help identify and mitigate project risks.

Minimum Requirements
5+ years of experience as a user experience researcher (or equivalent).
Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in the study of user experience, design, research, or related fields.
A portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables.
Demonstrated ability to plan, design, execute, and communicate both strategic and tactical research engagements, structure and lead internal and external workshops, and analyze the outcomes to provide insight for stakeholders.
Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills.

Technical Experience
General knowledge of agile/lean UX methodologies.
Deep knowledge of best practices for UX design principles.
Capacity to excel both independently and within a collaborative team environment both on site and virtually with geographically dispersed colleagues (consulting/agency experience is a plus).
Experience with a variety of mixed methods and approaches with a broad set of skills across survey design, ethnography, CX, A/B testing, qualitative/quantitative research, etc. for a product team, consulting with product managers and UX designers to identify research opportunities.
You are curious about technology and can dive into complex or unfamiliar topics. Bonus: experience working in analytics, databases, or cloud services is a plus.
Ability to map current industry trends to internal vision and bring related suggestions to the team.
Expert understanding of generative and evaluative research techniques and tools (both qualitative and quantitative), along with knowledge of when, why, and how to apply them.
Experience in analyzing and translating research data into actionable recommendations for product, design, and executive teams.
You have great communication and interpersonal skills.
You can clearly communicate ideas, effectively present research insights as compelling narratives to a variety of audiences, and generate persuasive written and multimedia reports.
Proven track record influencing product direction and strategy with actionable insights.
Ability to relate product improvements to measurable KPIs.
Background in human factors, information architecture, and user-centered design methodologies.
In-depth knowledge of screen sharing and recording software, online user testing tools, as well as remote facilitation tools.
Working knowledge of the following software is a plus: Jira, Airtable Slack, Sketch, Invision, and Figma, Webex, HotJar, Power BI/SAAS, Lamda Test, Usersnap.
