Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Computing Systems Professional 2 opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
Per diem for those who qualify.
Work Location: 100% onsite, TA-3, TA-33, TA-16
Work Schedule: 5-8s, possible OT
Organization/Group: SSO-3 (36S30C)
Clearance: Active “Q” clearance

Provides advanced technical support services; designs, specifies, and develops solutions for complex heterogeneous computing infrastructure. Performs research and development to identify and implement applicable emerging technologies in the Laboratory computing environment. Utilizes formal project management methodologies; gathers customer requirements; performs risk management functions; performs capacity and availability planning for computing infrastructure; performs effective communication both, verbal and written, at all levels.
A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of specialized area plus working knowledge of other related fields. Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives. Works under limited direction; receives general instructions on new assignments. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met. Minimum Job Requirements:
IT Desktop Support
Windows: build desktop systems using a locally develop operating system distribution, provide daily desktop support to customers for routine computing issues, patch windows systems,
Linux: build desktop systems using a locally developed distribution, provide daily desktop support to customers for routine computing issues, patch and upgrade linux systems
IT Engineering: manage and update windows servers
Network Engineering: support router patching and maintenance, monitor network performance, provide solutions where needed to help improve network performance
Knowledge of software development methodologies including Agile, Kanban, and Scrum.
Experience using project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
