[Laboratory Technician] IMMEDIATE NEED FOR: Lab Coordinator/Supervisor in Phoenix, AZ

Lab Coordinator/Supervisor - General Responsibilities:

Responsible for coordination of activities of a construction materials laboratory (testing includes materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt). This includes ensuring that the laboratory testing services are conducted in a safe manner and consistent with company quality protocols, project requirements, and in a timely manner. Oversee or coordinate the training and utilization of laboratory staff. Oversee or coordinate the maintenance and cleanliness of the laboratory and testing equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs laboratory testing on construction materials.

Ensures that laboratory processes and personnel adhere to the requirements of the
company Quality program, ASTM and other relevant standards.

Ensures that laboratory personnel are properly trained, supervised and equipped with the
necessary tools and equipment to ensure their personal safety in the office and laboratory.

Evaluates the performance of all employees within the laboratory and assists them in
their professional development and growth, consistent with company policies and

Supervises the efficient utilization of facilities and equipment assigned, reports to
Department Management when additional equipment is needed to meet the client’s
demands/project requirements.

Oversees calibration and maintenance of the laboratory equipment. Familiarity with
CCRL and other accreditation programs is required.

Ensures the proper organization and appearance of the laboratory area for which he/she is
responsible, including keeping the area and equipment clean and uncluttered.

Ensures that test reports are properly and accurately prepared to meet company standards
and practices and client requirements.

Monitor quality of work and lab practices to ensure company and industry standards are
continuously met. Report opportunities for improvement as noted.

Other tasks as assigned by Department Management.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 3 years’ experience performing laboratory tests on construction materials.

ICC, ACI, NICET, DOT certifications are preferred.

Valid driver’s license with acceptable diving/violation history.
